    32bit versus 64bit

Should I install the 64bit of Win7, even though I don't have 4GB+ of RAM?

My CPU is 64bit, right? Would I see any benefits from that + 64bit OS?

Slight performance advantage, but nothing really tangible. Anyway, 4GB + RAM for the future. You know BF:BC2 will want it!

BF:BC2 wants what it can't have!

It's like a siren, it'll lure you into it's trap and then demand 4GB!

Use 64Bit and only 64Bit and above, that 4GBs+ will soon follow, it's best to be prepared now so you don't have to reinstall later.

If you have the choice of installing 64-bit and 32-bit, it'd make absolutely no sense to install 32-bit unless you had a darn good reason.

32-bit should go die a peaceful death now. :wee:

                I installed 32 bit win 7...

Mainly because i don't plan on upgrading my PC often, I have 2Gb and I have another 2x1Gb sticks sitting here but my mobo doesnt like 4 sticks..

I also heard of some incompatibilities with runing games on the 64 bit win 7, such as borderlands...

The only reason I see why you should is if you don't have a 64 bit processor, which then it's impossible. Like with my dad's netbook.

                        but I think my processor (AMD 64 X2 6000+ 3.1ghz) is 64 bit

I never had a problem with 64 bit yet. The only game that never worked was vietcong, but that was also the case for vista 32bit.

Theme Hospital will not run on 64 bit operating systems (as it needs a 16 bit compatibility layer, which 32 bit versions have, but 64 bit ones do not).

                              Oh my god. O_O

Theme Hospital is great and there's no workaround for that?
