Yep So i need a laptop, mainly for work, school, video/photo editing etc. I also want one that can play games, but is cheap. The games aren't a priority but I want something that has power at an affordable level. My budget is below 1000 USD.

That was really vague ... define "games" ... head over to the notebookreview.com forums and they have a section meant for exactly this ... responses are usually pretty quick.

I must say that Asus has been coming out with some pretty sweet laptop deals lately so newegg.com for the best price and Best Buy if you want it today.

go deal hunting on Dells. People give Dells a bad rap, but I've vicariously had 2 Dell laptops and they've both been excellent, plus got them for ridiculously good prices.
