    Help me pick a monitor?

Well, I have some extra cash left over from my summer job in excess of what I'm paying for tuition this year so I'm thinking about getting a new monitor. I have an older 4:3 Dell flatscreen at the moment, so just about anything is an upgrade and I'm looking to spend not much more than $100, if possible.

    Any suggestions?

$100 won't get you much, but how about finding another monitor and running dual screens? craigslist?

With $100 you can only get 19" widescreen.

Don't bother getting one, since 19" 4:3 has larger area.

well, I was thinking $100-150, but yeah, 19" 4:3 seems to be suiting my needs more than well enough as is.

Plus my last paycheck from my summer job was $100 more than I expected (I'm currently unemployed), which puts me awfully close to getting a better bass guitar than I currently have/

lol, I'd recommend waiting until you have more excess cash and getting at least one (I recommend getting two :) ) of the new 23 inch or higher Dell/Others Manufacturers monitor with native 2048x1152 or higher resolution.

To be honest if College students over there are as broke as Uni students on this side of the pond that $100 will come in helpful for food and stuff.

I don't spend any money at college. All of my meals are paid for in the dining hall plus $300 of spending at other dining establishments. I have spent a grand total of $50 so far on miscellaneous junk food and an umbrella.
