Wireless router recommendations

I've decided on purchasing a wireless router, question is...which one?

I'm not talking about brands, but types. Should I go with a Wireless N, or G, or something else.

This will be for a laptop used for emails and basic internet searching, as well as for downloading games on the Wii.

I would get G. N is still expensive and the Wii doesn't support it.

It also depends on the range you want too, if you have a big house N might be better.

Thanks for the replies guys. And stickman, no, it's a small ranch style house and the Wii will be no more than 30 feet away from the router.

Unless everything in the house does N, no point in getting it. N is backwards compatible with G, so it will work with G/B devices.
