Random freezing

Hello techies!

Well just as the title implies, you see at random moments but not often the computer would freeze (specs in drop down list left hand side).

I watch my brother playing TF2 and at a random point it would freeze and we would have to manually restart then the game would play fine, same thing goes to CoH as well as when just watching desperate housewives lol :p

Its been bothering me for months i searched and searched but to no avail i have no idea what is causing the prob, i did not format and it cant be overheating no way, as the case is completely cooled and i clean it inside out two weeks.

It might be a mobo issue but am not sure please help guys and if you need more info just ask

Have you used Coretemp or another program to actually check you CPU temperature? Just because you cleaned it recently doesn't mean it's not overheating.

It might be worth trying just one of you RAM sticks (I'm assuming you've got 2x 1GB in there), to see if one of your sticks has gone bad.

Yea its 2X 1Gib will give it a check and core temp under load thanks a bunch will reply shortly.

Core temps are fine, as well as ram sticks.

look in your event viewer to see if any errors or warning come up before the freeze.

Update all your drivers, run ccleaner, defrage, and run scans for virus and spyware. It could be time for a reinstall

also you can download ubuntu and run it from your dvd drive to see if it's a hardware or windows problem. If it still freezes under ubuntu then most likely you have hardware problem

Well i have taken it for a format it should be ready today, once i get it i will test the games i will be putting back. Cheers Basil great advice
