    explorer.exe using up 100% CPU

I took some photos (.jpg) and videos (.3gpp2) off of my samsung slyde phone and put them in a folder. Now, whenever I try to access that folder, it causes the CPU usage to go to 100%. This happens with any program that tries to access these files. Quicktime, internet explorer, google chrome, irfanview (image program), windows explorer, etc.

Everything becomes pretty frozen and stops responding. The only way to fix the explorer.exe issue is to end the process, and then restart it via command prompt.

Does any one have any idea what's causing this, and how to fix it? I scanned the folder for viruses with Avast! and it was clean.

It's most likely a codec issue, you probably have 2 codecs used for the same video file and it tends to lock up explorer.exe. Try reinstalling a codec package if you have one installed, and be sure to uncheck those specific codecs.

Well, my good man, I deleted a codec package that I had, as you suggested, and it works perfectly now. Tyvm.
