Avast 5.0 Free AV - First Beta

Hi all,

here's the first beta of the long-awaited avast antivirus version 5.0. So far, we're only releasing a beta of the Free Antivirus (successor of avast 4.8 Home Edition). The betas of the Professional AV and the Security Suite will follow.

I've never really used the Avast GUI, never felt the need since 99% features are real time scanning. Might give it a bash though, does it have any Windows 7 features?

Not as far as I know, it's alot nicer than the old one and has heuristics now, granted tho it should not be used as your main protection as the VPS files and detection is not fully working with it being beta.
