Vista ms word problem need help!!!

Well for the past week i'm unable to have any acesss to MS WORD. I open MS and it's just blank, along with boarders and everything. Sometimes the words and boxes come out but when I click MS WORD it just freezes and I just get a loading bar that just doesn't dissapear. I've done most of the VistaHeads.com recommendations such as installing any updates, yet i havn't done these 2 optional updates but i'm pretty sure that isn't casuing the problem. Also I got the proper service pack and yea. I remember when I First used MS Word it told to enter the code or something. But i ignored it because I had the code lost somewhere and I had to write up a doucement. I'm pretty sure I havn't installed it ither.

So any clue's of what could be the problems ? and is there any way were I can fix this today, because I need to write out my resume today !!! :) :shakehead:

Is it a pirated copy? (if it is, be honest because there have been problems known with some).

Never has any problems with any of the Microsoft Products. I have only heard of this on pirated or non activated copies of office. Make sure you have activated Office:
Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) subscriptions offer a suite of productivity tools and cloud services with world-class security and powerful AI. Try for free.

As many features will disable themselves if not activated within the activation period.

If those do not work uninstall office, get your office case pop out the DVDs and do a fresh install, this should make sure any required office services are running properly and you have a clean start again.

Yea well apprently my dad said they didn't give a key code for the activation. So how can i find out what my activation key is... or do I have to call for tech. support ?

But apparently your supose to run the wizard to get the phone number for help. How am I supose to call them or w.e if I don't have the cd. I need to get on this case asap.

So how do I make sure its the paid version not the trial version, I didn't have any sort of expering date or notice of any.

Did you have the original package, or recovery CD package with you? Usually those things are put on a sticker and stick to the plastic package bags, so that users might lose them.

By the way, if you absolutely need a word processor for something before you get it fixed, try OpenOffice.

If it was a legit version contact the person your dad purchased the computer from and ask them for the original licensed setup case which has the key on it along with the DVDs. It could be a trail or pirated version installed if this is a second hand computer. If it was straight from a store they should be able to provide you with the the setup discs and office case that has the key on it.

If it was store bought and came on the PC, in all likelihood it's the trial version, and you never actually had a license for it in the first place. It's a nasty bit of marketing by MS in my opinion; people buy a PC, think "Ooh look, there's Office... I can do all my work in that!" without realising, then two months down the line it all goes pop and suddenly they're locked out of everything. I heard a guy in Comet going absolutely nuts over that a while back.
