Is it supposed to take this long?

I had to do a complete re-install last night and around 12 am est. I started the mobo driver installations. It's an Asus P5Q, well I wake up this morning at 6 est, to find the same program still running.

How long does it take to get the "Intel Chipset Inf Update Program" completed?

Usually 5-10 minutes. It's a long install compared to other programs... but not 6 hours :p

End process and if your computer works fine, just leave it be.

Yeah, I called support at Asus and when I told the woman how long it was taking, she sounded like i hit her in the stomach.

I clicked the install all option, thats what was taking so long. So I restarted and individually installed the programs. Went quick, now its off to download countless game patches:cry:

I didn't want to risk it, for all i know, the virus i got was from one of the downloads.

Better off starting completely from scratch rather then having to reinstall a second time.

          Thanks for the help guys!
