Crossfire GPU's

I have 1 4850 not even a year old and a brand spankin new 4890. (Radeon ATI)

I heard that unlike nVidia GeForce Cards, Radeon ATI's don't have to be the same gpu when you use crossfire

So is it possible to mix 4850 and a 4890?

Yes, but the faster card is throttled to the speed of the lower one, so it isn't worth it.

So a 4850+4890 would be worse then a single 4890?

It depends on the circumstances and how far you can overclock the 4850, but generally yes.

Good suggestion Alex. I overclocked my card, and tried it with the 4890, and it was worse then the single 4890. Thanks for the answers but i'll stay with the single 4890.
