My Nvidia Driver Problem!!help!

Ok i got vista 64 bit.

Driver 182.50 installed and running fine but....

last month i tried to update to 185.85 whql and my screen went black after the install,desktop icons and other window menu stuff was invisable:shock: even after reboot ect.

I had to do a safe boot(to see a screen) and reinstall 182.50 in safe mode to get a screen back.

Now again i tried the newer 186.18 whql and the same thing.

So i am stuck on 182.50

I have never used a driver cleaner and last time i tried to uninstall nvidia display drivers from vista using the program uninstall, i had to reformat Vista because it ruined the operating system.

I dont want to format my system any ideas on what to do?

Driver cleaner experience?

I use driver sweeper and never had any kind of problems.

1. Uninstall your video driver.
2. restart computer in safe mode
3. open driver sweeper. check nvidia display. DO NOT CHECK NVIDIA CHIPSET
4. click clean
5. restart, install new drivers

Don't use DriverCleaner, it does not work properly. What you need is Driver Sweeper.

I have used DriverCleaner for well over a year without a single issue. I have Vista 64bit

or is driver cleaner on nvidia website?

Edit: I got sweeper from 3dguru.com.Its only a tiny thing!
