    new harddrive........I'm not happy.

so i'm upgrading my 200gb SATA harddrive (internal) to a 1tb internal :yay:

My Pc has right now, 1tb and 200 gb together, in different drives, but i want to salvage the 200gb one to a different pc. How would i get all my installed crap from a 200gb pc to a 1tb drive, without installing everything all over again..... Its a real pain. This is why i r not happy

I'm not sure if there is a way with normal games, I know steam has a file backup thing in it (right click game -> backup game files -> select games -> select your new drive). One thing that might be possible is to just copy the game files and see if the game has a "repair" function that might allow it to create new registry files for that hard drive. Other than that I don't think there's anything you can do except copy saves and reinstall...

    -Edit-

I just realized that if your going to only be using the 1tb drive then you'll need to copy windows over to your new hard drive. I forget how to do that but I know windows has a way to do it, that might solve some of your problems.

Do what I do when moving a partition from a smaller drive to a nwer larger drive. Copy the partition over and your done :).

Ok not as easy as right-click copy partition to new larger hard drive, I use Acronis True Image Workstation or Disk Director Sutie and it copies everything (the partition) over to the new drive extremly quickly and error free. Then I turn off my computer. Take out the smaller hard drive and put the larger hard drive in where the smaller hard drive was then turn my computer back on and I am ready to go, with no new installation needed.
