My venerable Steel Series S&S had become pretty shiny and worn out in the centre so I think its time to buy a new surface for my G5 to run about on. There are so many on the market that I'm just confused to be honest. I have a digestive biscuit habit, so I don't think a cloth weave mat would be good, crumbs (although I try and brush them off) could end up getting embedded within the fabric. What mats have worked well for you guys?

Steelseries QcK
Yes, it's cloth, but it's really durable and you can handwash it just fine. If you happen to get just a few crumbs on it you can just take a damp piece of paper and clean it up a bit.
Very responsive and definitely the best mouse mat I've had.

Re: New Mouse Mad/Pad Gaming Surface
I got mine (http://www.rocketfishproducts.com/pc...pad-black.aspx) from Best Buy for $15. It's a lot bigger than my previous mouse pads.
The only problem I've noticed is that it seems to wear the feet on my G5 faster than a regular cloth pad.

That's a good point about the solid mats wearing out the mouse feet. Luckily Logitech are absolute heroes and send out new mouse feet for free if you ask nicely! The more I read the more attracted to the cloth mats I'm becoming.

This is a bit off-topic, but Logitech are freaking heroes. I didn't even know about the free mouse feet, but their support has been so awesome for me that I will never buy a mouse from anyone else.Originally posted by Bisley_BobThat's a good point about the solid mats wearing out the mouse feet. When I bought my Mx510 back in 2005, the left button died after about a month. Well, it died on a Friday night and I was leaving for a deployment on Monday. So I called them up and explained the situation. The guy told me to hold on to the screwy one so I at least had something as a backup. They sent a new one next day air right away, no questions asked. I got it Saturday afternoon. A lot of hardware and software companies should look to Logitech as an example of how customer service should be run.

I sent them an email saying my G5 from 2005 was running low on feet and the button occasionally clicked... so they sent me a new G5 G2Originally posted by Unnamed AssailantThis is a bit off-topic, but Logitech are freaking heroes.
