ITT: Creative labs bashing.
Just upgraded from Windows 7 Beta to the RC1. Magically my soundcard not only doesn't work, but isn't detected by Windows.
I can't install drivers for it as the Creatives Drivers (latest for Vista) won't recognise that the card is even inserted into my PC.
Not showing up in Device Manager, although a Multimedia Audio Controller is showing up which after a little research seems to appear in place of the card, when things are a bit screwy
I've tried uninstall drivers the Multimedia Audio Controller and tryed to install the drivers for the Creative card without luck.
Windows Update has this entry down as an optional update:
Creative Technology Ltd. - Bus Controllers and Ports, Display, Other hardware, Streaming Media and Broadcast - Monitor Webcam (SP2208WFP)
It's referring to the webcam on my Dell monitor, I can't find a way to uninstall it, even in safe mod.
The card is seated correctly in the PCI slot, for the record it worked fine in the 7000 build.
The legend that helps me will be knee deep in clunge.
