    new HD4870, very bad AA

Ok first of all iam running windows vista64-bits. installed it on my new HDD, got updates drivers for windows updates. After i went to ATI webpage and got latest drivers for my new Rad hd4870. Now when I play BF2142 I get very poor AA, its alot worst then my old 8600gt... I tried to force AA in my ati CCC nothing changes. been 2 days that iam looking on google to fix this and nothing that ive done seems to really work.

can anyone help out a noob?

did you make sure you completely wiped the system of your old nvidia drivers before you put the ATI ones on?

Have you tried other games and do you have the same issues there?

i get some "flickers" with my 4870. attributed it to fornicating dustbunnies on the memory modules because fresh drivers (today, april '09 drivers) didn't correct the flickering in lotro.

all other games, up to now, AA has been working well. ati was supposed to have *fixed* their problem with the massive hit that bumping AA caused with other settings.

parallelism, or some such piece of marketing physics, or so i hear...
