Do you use video drivers from the manufacturer?

Ive heard that using drivers from the manufacturer vs. the chipset developers could be better.

Ive tried it both ways and to be honest, I couldnt tell the difference and it seemed that the manufacturers were behind from the chip maker.

Of course my comparison was EVGA drivers vs. going to Nvidias site.

Anyone have any thoughts of their own?

I get them from the Nivida/ATI site, and I don't really update them unless there's a problem.

I always get mine directly from the Nvidia or ATI websites.

I update mine whenever I think about it, but always from the chipmaker site.

They are the same from the manufacturer (e.g. Asus) and chip provider (ATI).

Drivers have to stick to a reference design as stated by ATI/Nvidia. The only thing manufactures are allowed to change from reference is the BIOS and physical card layout.

Drivers always stay the same unless they are unofficially modded.

always have and always will go straight to the chip developer... dont see the point in goin to the card manufacturer tbh... if its any different then its only going to drag on performance rather than add.

Normally I'd go to the driver manufacturer, but lately I've just been getting my drivers off of Windows update.
