in a nutshel its a way of setting up direct routes for IP traffic so that you can guarantee bandwidth and minimal packet loss. Older routers wont support it (im talking about big exchange routers not home routers as it doesnt really apply there).

I doubt you will ever really need to know about it but if you wanna know more il gladly explain over xfire or summat... good way to do some revision i guess

You may also want to correct your acronym. Switching is part of the acronym, so saying MPLS Switching is like saying ATM Machine. Multi-protocol Label Switching Switching doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

bah i knew it would be you who wud pick out some kind of error...

BUT thats not what i said, i said switchover as in switchout the old router for the new one capable of MPLS

It probably would have been better to say something like 'upgrading to MPLS' then. Oh well. Everybody goofs.
