    Looking for some speakers.

So, im a complete audio noob and have no clue where to begin. I am looking for a set of speakers that i will be using for a mix of music, gaming, and the occasional movie. I am a fan of some nice bass, but dont want the sound to become distorted after some time or at higher volumes. max price including sound card is around $200 - 250

Saw these and they appear to be good with decent reviews: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16836121122

If anybody has any recommendations it would be greatly appreciated. I assume im it would be best to grab a sound card too right?

    thanks in advance

I have these; they may not have the sheer bassy punch for movies and games, but they're excellent for music:

I have the Z-2300's and they are amazing! The bass is really powerful, but not to the point where it overpowers other notes. I do however recommend turning down Windows volume to 50% and turning the speakers up!

Also, they work well with good quality music rips, the satellites are really crisp and clear :)

Summary of what Alex said: Yeah, they're the sex.

But I've had mine for about a year now and I can say I love them, they do sound amazing for music and the recommendation is true, you might wanna turn down Windows but that gives you the excuse of having to turn them up

I have these, they're basically the same as the z-2300s. I've listened to them side by side (my bro has the z-2300s) and i find that the klipsch ones have a heavier punch on the sub (quite a bit actually). Either ones you get, you'll be getting some very nice computer speakers.

I actually use 3 sets of of the OP speakers for presentations and movies to a crowd of 100-300 and it works out well. I can't really speak for the quality, but everything is always clear and loud enough :)
