Well I was cleaning my old pc (Dell 9100) as it gets really clogged, after cleaning my GPU fan with a few blasts of compressed Air and a brush I seem to have unbalanced the fan, the problem is, the screws holding the fan into the heatsink are well and truly stuck in. I can remove the heatsink itself, just not the fan and now it clips slightly as it turns resulting in a horrible grinding noise. Temps are around 40 idle so its not really affecting the cards performance, but it is unbearable to listen to. I cant file down part of the fan as I cant take it out and its too hard to get to.
So, after a very long ramble that I could have summed up in a lot less words, I need a new desktop GPU, the pc is mainly used for browsing, google sketch up and 1942/bf2 occasionally. The current card is a 6800 (3 years old) and I need something just to replace it. 30 pounds is what I was looking at for an 8400, but is there anything cheaper that can make do for just browsing really.
rest of the specs
Pent4 3.0 GHZ
3GB RAM
300 GB HD's.
So just need a nice cheap GPU to keep it going.
