Screw fell into my PSU!

Hi everyone,

Um whilst cleaning my comp today my gfx slot screw fell into my power supply is it dangerous?

try and pry it out with a fork O_o

If that doesn't work just unscrew the cover and get the screw out..

unscrewing it might void your warrenty i would stick to shaking it around... i deffo wudnt stick a fork in there :s

Yes, sticking a fork into a 620W box of electricity is a perfectly safe thing to do.

Just try shaking it.

its very dangerous. don't even attempt to get it out until you unplug it. Even after its off there is still a lot of power stored in capacitors. gently shaking it would probably work.

I tried shaking it the little bugger wont come out, as well as i tried unscrewing it lol and its tooo damn hard, those boys at yoyotech sure do screw there cases really hard. I am taking it to a PC specialist tomorrow to deal with it. But thanks for the answers guys

I dont get how they are going to do a better job of it...They will just shake harder or unscrew it...Its not like they have magic powers...

I took your information and tried to put the fork into the PSU and I got electrocuted and I had to spent a day in the hospital so now I'm going to sue you!!!! :tantrum:

lol magic powers, i tried unscrewing it but the screws are bolted in tooo damn hard :s

Taking apart your PSU will void your warranty. Look for nifty little "Void if broken" stickers. How about using a plastic fork? Eh? Eh?

I'd just shake it like the people above me have said... or use one of those plastic wire clothes hangers.
