    Headsets

    Hey guys,

I was recently doing a bit of looking for a new headset, but couldn't really find any that had a good price to good review ratio. I was wondering if any of you had a good recommendation for a good quality headset.

As far as the price range goes Im not going to spend hundreds on a headset but I'm looking for something for a bit better quality then a 20 buck set. The range would probably be anything up to $100 or even $150 ish if its worth it.

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Headsets

I just bought one of these, and is quite satisfied.

Be warned that it is an USB headset, so it doesn't take advantage of your soundcard.

You can find plenty of reviews online.
My only problem is that it is a bit loud, even on the lowest volume setting. But that can be handled by turning the games master volume down.
I haven't really used the mike, so no opinion on that.

          I use these.

Sound is just as good as my 2 Sennheiser sets. The MIC is crystal clear and is flexible and can be moved to any position you require. Mic can also be removed for watching movies or eating food at your PC. Audio can be moved from nothing to ear smashing. Works great for locating enemies via sounds in Counter Strike, something my Sennheisers sucked at.

              Re: Headsets

i've used everything from exceptionally adequate (the headphone/speaker that came with my logitech set) to so-called "gaming" headsets (currently using a baracuda 5.1 setup) and I have no reservation recommending the zalman 5.1 headset so that others might avoid my mistake. i used them for two years daily until they broke...now i'm stuck with these **** razr baracudas until i have some more money. argghhhhhhhh

              i mean...warrggghhhhhaaaaahhhh

              dammmmmmmmmarrrrrttttttttttttt.

              shooottttttttttttttttttttttttttttt...

seriously. i really liked the zalman's (the 5.1's...even if the bass was semi-cut) GREAT headphones...

edit--seriously, and after considering my prior post, i'd go for the zalman's. super, super comfortable, very good (not superb, mind you) 5.1 sound, and decent mic support. the zalman's are very very light, but deliver the goods, imho. if i had the money (married, so i have almost none, lol) i'd chunk my razr baracudas and get another pair of zals.

Yeah I had the Razer Barracudas for a week. RMA x2 = Money back kthx bai.

I got a hold of some Logitech Digital Precisions for dirt cheap I want to say around £15. Quality wise nothing amazing but I've got speakers for that, if you change your mind and are after some seriously cheap but fair quality check them out.

They open as well so your ears don't feel like their about to singe after an hour (although causes a few issues if you have long hair :awes). I like them for the money I paid :)
