    crossfire help

I'm sorta confused about this whole crossfire / crossfire x ageia physics etc etc
    my question is
is ageia physx better then crossfire?
from what i understand crossfire works like agea in the since one card does physics and the other does the rest..
can someone shed some light for me ?
this seems like a real shady deal i did 4 hours of searching and I'm still confused after 10 YouTube videos and numerous sites being read.

Lol Ageia Physx Simulates Physics inagames like Mirrors Edge...

Crossfire is when you have two ATI graphics cards connected to each other via a crossfire bridge...These will NOT be able to do physx as physx is nvidias stuff...

ATI has been working on Havok which will be physics for their gfx cards but not much is know about that...

Ageia physx cant be better than Crossfire as they are totally different things...

Plus PhysX is not supported in many titles really.

And when it is implemented, it tends to suck.
I had to turn it off in Mirror's Edge due to constant freezing.
I might throw in my spare 8600GT as a PhysX GPU to see if it works well, but I've yet to see a game where PhysX adds much real value to the experience.

You want at least an 8800GT or better to make having the extra card for PhysX worth it.

wait, isnt physx supported now in the newer nvidia cards with just a driver update?

Yes, but you can use an extra graphics card as a dedicated PhysX processor.

                    +1

If you actually benchmark it, the 8600 series or lower will actually lower your ingame performance if you use it as a dedicated PPU.

8800 Series or better is the minimum you should be using.
