so yeah. i re started it again. and it runs now. and the new partition is there. now did i do it right? or will this happen again? HELP PLEASE!!!!!!! I'm afraid to turn off my computer.

Microsoft DOES warn you not to install Windows 7 onto any computer that is vital to a business and such. I'd recommend that you mess around with this kinda stuff on a computer that you don't really need or can deal with a total format.

+1 to the above, dont do any kind of risky experiment on such an important machine.

You might want to back up your dad's data. I did a duel boot and a few days later needed to reinstall vista and window 7. Both vista and windows 7 would freeze on start up. Nothing i did could get me in not even in safe mode, nogthing.

It could have been my fault I don't know. I still went back to duel boot and never saw the problem again. Be on the safe side and back your dads data up

If your father runs his business on his PC without any backups, he is a very very foolish person.

I don't know what happened. Switch back forth a couple times a day. It just would not boot vista or windows 7. It just froze.

I still went back to a duel boot. Not having any problems, its been a few weeks now.

You should still back your data up. Any thing can go wrong even in mac os, linux, xp and vista
