    my computer is getting fat....

yeah so my HDD is starting to come to its 900 GB total (spread over my C, and external). i right now have 453 of my 900GB and well my computer is starting to feel slower, not like it did when it was new etc. and since with all the stuff for my dads bisness at this time i CANNOT reformat.

SO that being said. whats the best/easiest way to get my computer to lose SERIOUS weight and make it overally faster without reformating.

btw my whole documents folder is on my external, so all my pics, dls, docs etc is on that

oh and my performance score with windows was a 5.6 for ram. which i have 4 gigs of...?

If its slowing down it might not be because the hard drive is getting full, it might be down to any background applications you have running. Do you have anti spy ware and other internet security running?

You can do a windows cleanup somehow, what that does it clear out all the temp files from windows. If it hasn't been done for a while it might clear up a coupe of gigs but its doubtful. I would go through add/remove programs and try and take off as many things as possible, im sure there will be a couple u dont need.

      1: Delete programs/files you don't need

2: Run CCleaner, both "cleaner" and "registry" options

      3: Defrag hard drive

      4: ???

      5: Profit!!!

Download and run some spyware/malware scanners. I'd recommend Spybot Search and Destroy and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

          Then do what Alex said.

I run CCleaner every month or two and it usually clears around 500MB.

There's also a nice guide on this in the guide section: http://www.totalgamingnetwork.com/ma...d.php?t=165998
