Jesus Christ guys, what is it with your crap diagrams?

A bottleneck is where the graphics card has to wait for the processor to send it data. The CPU cannot feed the GPU enough data as it can't process it quickly enough, therefore, performance is limited. The true capability of the GPU is not apparent as it has to wait for data from the CPU.

A Q6600 will definitely not bottleneck a GTX280 mildly overclocked speeds, i don't think it would even do so at stock speeds due to architecture efficiency and bandwidth. A mild overclock will obviously help things though.

I can assure you at stock speeds it will bottleneck, my 260 bottlenecked quite a lot at stock speeds.

GTX 285 it is. Despite everyone else, Alex98uk is the bestest. Partly because he has the same name as me, but also because he agrees with Thunder who took the time on xfire and TS to explain things to me. Ima go buy it naw.

Unless you plan on OC the Q6600 then there isnt much point going higher than the GTX 260.

If you OC and you have the money then go for the GTX 280.
