I just picked up BF 2 this week. I played the demo for around 30 hours and maybe have a total of 45 hours between it and retail, so I have plenty to learn. :)
I've found some tactics articles here:

They seem like a good place to start. But I imagine that the best way to learn will be to join up with a solid clan to learn the game more quickly. Because I am getting smoked bad in multiplayer.
One thing that I would really like to find is a mod of a shooting range that shows the X when hits are made. I'm having a hard time judging the bullet spread and weapons characteristics. Without much of a physical reaction to being hit, it's hard to tell how many rounds are actually hitting enemies. GRAW 2 has a decent range that helped a lot in shortening the learning curve toward weapon proficiency.
I've been playing Ghost Recon off and on for around 5 years and still love the game. I see that I can transfer a lot of what I've learned about tactics into BF 2, but so far it's been a painful experience. It's frustrating being outmatched when I'm used to holding my own.
Well, any suggestions or directions on shortcutting to better skills and enjoyment of the game would be greatly appreciated. This game is huge and there are a lot of things I like about it. I'm excited to get into it, I've met some decent players already, and can't wait to get into some intensive team work.
