    Laptop (soonish)

So, I'm almost done with highschool and I've decided I really will need a laptop (after taking a lot of community college courses, of course). Any suggestions?

I want to keep it around $1000 or less if possible, Core 2 Duo and 3-4gb RAM are a must as well. Also, I still want to be able to play games that aren't that demanding on it, like TF2 and the like. This won't be a desktop replacement or primarily for gaming. I will still have my gaming rig with my at college. This is mostly for lugging to classes, libraries, etc, so I'm not looking for anything too heavy either.

I've mostly looked at some Dells so far. Yes, yes they're awful, blah blah, but the price is good and my mom has one that she's had for ages without any problems. :)

I think the one above is 17"?

Usually a little bulky to be carrying around with you and such i would stick to 15"

15" laptop with a 86GS/GT should do very well for TF2. Cheap? go for Sager.

Under your budget, got a C2D, a 9600MGT pretty good.

Just to add to eagles post make sure it has decent battery so your not always looking for a power plug at college

for something with a C2D and anything above integrated graphics and youll want a 9 cell battery which is >65watt hour thatll give you about 2 hours battery life when gaming maybe 3-3.5 when surfing the web

                  Thanks for the suggestions.
                  how about this one:
Buy ASUS N80 Series 14.1" Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 4GB Memory Windows Vista Home Premium N80Vn-X1 with fast shipping and top-rated customer service. Once you know, you Newegg!

Only 6 cell, but I'll never be too far away from an outlet.
