    Finished overclocking... finally!!!

I have had my machine for a few weeks and i have just finished testing my Q6600's capabilities. I had high hopes since it was a 1.25v VID and i wasn't disappointed!

It runs 3.7ghz @ 1.45v Vcore 24/7 and will boot into Windows and browse at 4.0ghz @ 1.58v Vcore (unstable). I had it stable at 3.8ghz using 1.55v Vcore, but i didn't need the extra 100mhz or the extra heat associated with it. So, i am finished :)

    What do you guys think?

      What benches do you want?

If you need advice in lapping, hit me up. I did it on my old Thermaltake Big Typhoon.

You may be one of the very few who could quite possibly "almost" max out
        GTA IV on the PC.

        Nicely done there Alex.

My 4870 only has 512mb RAM, so probably not

I gave up with GTA4 anyway

How do you get ur temps so low??... Mine idles around 37c with aftermarket cooling (Zalman 9700) and at stock speeds.. I was always told water cooling doesn't make that big of a difference compared to air.

A high end watercooling setup will give you significantly lower temps, plus i bet you have a lower Vcore than me as well!

Cheap, crappy watercooling kits will do no better than high end air, but something like mine will :)

I did the same thing, the finish on the bottom of those things was terrible and lapping it gave me a 3-4 degree drop which was a lot more than i expected!

Well done on those results though you have been a patient and lucky man!
