There's something wrong with my monitor.

About a few months ago, I purchased a Dell 22'' Widescreen monitor from a local staples. I have never had trouble with up until yesterday. For some reason, there is a "tint" of red on the screen. Blues now look purple, greens look, yellow, etc..I tried hitting auto adjust and it fixes it for like 2 seconds then it goes right back to that tint again. I really don't understand what is causing this?

Tried factory reset on the monitor overlay display thing? (Helpful I know)

Maybe its the connector..there is a monitor in my college that goes a tint of yellow..Because the cable has come out ever so slightly..So try moving the cable about and putting it firmly in..might fix it...

As hellsent said check your connections at your PC and the monitor itself.

If that was the case then auto adjust wudnt do anything though?

Sounds like something is faulty to me, it should still be under warrenty so it might be RMA time

Just adjust the color settings on the monitor/graphics drivers?

Yea, i would reinstall the drivers first before opening an RMA.

-Well, I've made sure the wires are connected, still nothing.
-I reformatted as well, nothing.
-and I tried it with my buddy's rig, same crap.

What you can't adjust the color settings on your monitor? At least try Nvidia Control Panel/CCC first before rma.

Well if he tried it on another PC, then he's almost certainly eliminated all other possibilities.

im sorry but a monitor which isnt particularly old shouldn't have to have its colour corrected so aggressively. Even if that did solve the problem i think its clear there is a fault and it should be replaced.

Yeah, then I would contact Dell support first then RMA it. Who knows, it might get worse, but from what Sniper says it seems like a software problem since auto adjust fixes it for a split second.

maybe a software error but i would be more inclined to say firmware if it is software as hes tried it on another PC with the same results.

Firmware, yeah that's what I meant. I just didn't think there was actually something wrong with the screen on the monitor.
