Microsoft Word 2007 references help!

Hello everyone,

my uni gave me an essay to do over the Christmas break and as you may know all essays should be referenced and the tutors saw it fit to harass us a bit by doing it alphabetically :s

I was just wondering if there is a option on word to do this automatically with a click of a button?

How can you reference alphabetically? What referncing standard are you using? IEEE, harvard etc...?

Try the GOST Sort my title or name.

yuk i hate referencing!

Kinda unrelated but one thing i have found handy this year is microsoft onenote. Fantastic piece of software for keeping research, notes, drafts, reports etc all in one place.

Most referencing is in alphabetical order, unless you set it to be chronological order.

Go to the references tab and insert/add all your sources, and then use the ISO690 method.

I think in the time it took for this thread to run its course, you might have been able to alphabetize your sources manually.

For serious referencing, i use EndNote.

Automatically connects to interwibble databases, imports whole abstracts, links into text made easy...

I wuv it...shame it costs a hundred bucks. Have your department buy a copy :)

Some Universities are part of Microsoft's Software Assurance/MSDN program. You should be able to get it free through that.
