            4 Suggestions/questions:

1: What case will you use?

2: Maybe consider saving money and buying a 1GB Radeon 4870 or going for max performance with the 4870X2!

3: Remeber that PSU is not modular so it may create a big wire mess!

4: Consider buying a cheaper screen. You'll get the same quality, but i think you'll be paying a premium for a Ferrari branded one.

For Monitor hes right about the Ferrari branding as was said on top gear you can slap a car badge on anything and it adds value

              tbh go for

Larger monitor same aspect ratio with built in speakrs and webcam nothing too spectacular but decent enough.

Its $10 more than you ferrari one however free shipping so it works out more or less the same

im with these guys on the screen issue, go for something else.

What do you do with your computer? mainly gaming or do you do media type work with adobe and such?

If its mainly gaming then go for the 4870 option if you do other stuff then stick with your original selection. I will point out the 55nm ones have started to appear in pre-order around many stores so i would wait a month or so as they are looking to be much closer to the 4870 pricepoint.

                    Re: my xmas build.

I am a huge gamer. i like being creative with adobe also, so i would also be on that end of things.

Is the gtx 260 better than the 4870?

The 1GB 4870 is roughly the same as the GTX260 (216 cores)

                      The 512mb 4870 beats the GTX260

                      The 4870X2 owns all :)

So does the 4870, especially since it uses the newer GDDR5 RAM unlike any other cards.

                              Yikes, get a new case!

That will not keep the sort of parts you want cool. They will overheat!
