    New mouse recommendations

I'm thinking of getting a new mouse, but I'm not sure what to get. I want one with high DPI, corded, has buttons on it (so that I can use them as back and forward buttons in web browsers) and I'm not sure if it should be optical or laser. I have a logitech MX400 laser mouse right now and I have a lot of problems with it like how it works better on my desk than the mouse pad. On the mouse pad it can't make a straight line. It gets all erratic and jumpy, which is really annoying. Yet on the desk, it can make a perfect straight line. I don't have this problem with optical mice on the same mouse pad, though.

    any suggestions are welcome :)

Logitech G5 v2 is pretty sweet. I would say it has been my most favorite mouse to use.

I use a razer lachesis now, but it has a few quarks.

Wolfking makes a cool laser mouse that is a bit cheap too. You might Google them.

People still love the MX series stuff too, you might think of just staying with that line.

Thanks, but what should I be looking for? Laser or optical?

I do like my Logitech G5, with an S&S Steelpad "gaming surface" (mouse pad to you and i). I have to get the tweezers out every now and again to remove the cat hairs that get into the laser hole thing though!

Logitech G5 is by far the best mouse I have ever owned. I have had the Gen. 1 G5 for a few years now and I wouldn't ever consider switching this mouse out for another mouse.

LMAO, I have a Razr Lachesis, gotta clean the dog hairs out of it every once in awhile.

Anyways, I have both a Logitech G5 and obviously the Lachesis. IMO, the G5 is better for long term use (better fit to the hand) and the weight customization is pretty cool as well. As far as FPS gaming goes, I definitely prefer the Lachesis. IMO much smoother action (I too am using the Steelpads, Razr pad is WAAAYYYYYYYYYY overpriced) and can also ramp up to 4000 DPI.

Logitech G5 with steelpad S&S. Great fan of the mice but Logitech's software can be a bit annoying

I'll add to the love for the G5.

I had the G7 (wireless) but got sick of changing out the battery packs
