If this has already been asked I apologize.

Are there any plans for multiplayer such as racing friends in need for Speed?

Will the Sims 3 be released on the iPhone at roughly the same time as PC?

Wanted to follow up with you on this. The two games we have for G1 are Tetris and MONOPOLY: Here & Now. If you go to eamobile.com from your G1 you should see these available.

As a current first year student studing Computer Science, I am interested in getting into developing games, I'd like to expand my knowledge and development small mini-games for each platform out there, in the hopes that someone major would pick me up... do you guys have any tips on where I should start?

As gamers, what is your favorite gaming genre? RTS? Racing? FPS? and what was your first console that you purchased?
        I honestly don't know. I've only heard '09...

What kinds of game genres fit best on phones? (Ex. Puzzle, action, platformer, shooter, racing, etc.) Will the new Dsi's improved capabilities persuade some phone developers to switch back or is the iphone/any new technologically advanced phone still more capable than the DS?

Wanted to share an interesting article with you guys from Engadget today titled: "Apple: "the iPhone is a gaming console".

Worth the read, plus they mention the EA/Apple events which is nice

I was reading the article along with some of the comments below and I noted that somebody said that their iPod touch ran games better than their iPhone. Yet the article is called
Apple: "the iPhone is a gaming console"
How would you comment on this?

Reading further on, I see that many comments posted are either illiterate, childish or simply non sensical. I apologize if the above question refers to a comment of these catagories.

                  Hey [10]CinC.Pieman'

I just wanted to share that with everyone here who both seemed genuinely interested as well as to those who are on the fence or skeptical about the device and Apples interest in gaming.

I don't want to speak for Engadget as to why they titled their post that way but it could be that the words iPhone and iPod touch are often interchanged when used in certain contexts, like this one. Meaning, you'll often just see iPhone Apps, or iPhone gaming

I read the same as you about games running better on the iPod touch. I personally have no data on this. Maybe I'll do a non-scientific experiment on Monday between the two and see if I can conclude anything? I'll probably just go nuts trying to figure it out :)

Circling back to point of the article. Apple is getting behind gamig folks. This is great news.

                  CL

Alrighty, I am getting ready to go to the Apple Store. I think it's awesome you guys got involved...you asked some smart, thoughtful questions and will do my best to get as many of them answered for you.

Stay tuned, I'll post here with the Q&A, pics and assorted coverage from the event.

Maybe next time I'll live-blog it?

                      CL

Personally, The iPhone/iPod touch right now is my favorite. I may be a little biased since I own one, but there's plenty of reasons why I do (most are not gaming, btw - I use mine as a portable computer).

Here are two big ones to think about in regards to gaming:

AppStore - your gateway to 1000s of games
Multi-touch - there aren't any other devices I'm aware of that do this (or at least as well as Apple does)

Are you looking for a phone or just something to game on?

                      CL

Re: EA Mobile - Submit Your Questions To The Producers

I'm just getting back and firing up the laptop now. If you were following me on Twitter, you probably already heard some of the exciting news from today's event and maybe even caught a picture or two from the Apple store. Yes, I did get to play both Need for Speed and SimCity!! Not only that but I also got 3 brand new screens of SimCity to share with you guys from Mike Pagano, the Producer of those titles. It really was a fun time and watching this happen inside an Apple store was incredible. There was a good turnout and a genuine interest in what we were doing...by both the diverse crowd and the staff of the Apple store itself. I was even told that we're going to be working with them so they can provide gaming assistance during their 'One to One' experiences in-store.

Now, about the questions. I was able to grab most of what you submitted and gave it to Mike, to answer. There were two reasons why we weren't able to Q&A on the spot as I had intended - 1) The quantity and depth of questions would have taken some time to answer which wasn't possible because 2) He had to catch a flight to SF in order to present at tomorrow's event. What we decided to do was this - have him answer everything 'offline' and he'll send me his responses, within the next day or two. In hindsight, I think this is a better approach since it'll allow him to put some extra thought into his answers.

In the meanwhile, I'm going to post as much as I can from the event, answer some questions and upload some pics.

                          Awesome, thanks Craig.

I kinda knew after the first few questions that you guys would probably need to answer them 'offline' but I think it's a good thing, as we wouldn't want to be hearing about easy-to-answer questions like "How long did it take to port NFS onto the iPhone" etc. :p hehe

As a Rock Band junkie I would be all over a game like this. Unfortunately, it doesn't exist. Stay tuned...if I hear anything I'll post it.
