Iv been keeping an eye on the cost of i7 parts on scan + Microdirect and they are slowly creeping down in price which is great news for me

        i7 920 - £231
        Asus Mobo is now £232
        Ram - £172

Its not much different (5-10) but its a start. I hope its not just because of the tax cuts

Unless you're pushing for some extremely high front side bus speeds, I wouldn't bother with DDR2 1066 memory. The DDR2 800 should be fine, and you should be able to get a great overclock on that CPU without overclocking the memory.

iv decided to not do anything tbh lol

Just leave my money in the bank till i really need to upgrade. Might pick up a second hand Q66/E84 and a 55nm GTX260 in a couple of months to keep me goin till the end of term
