    its old doesnt mean its dead :P my friend still games on dual 7950GX2s.

    Neways if you are upgrading from an old car yeah pretty much go with the 48 series, a p45 board, and a q66 aint that bad although i would personally recommned a C2D E8400.

    8800GTX is oooollllddddd go for and ATI 4850 or 4870 :)

    I prefer asus motherboards although i have hear their customer service is a bit poo, for me this is no issue as scan deal with asus so i just take it back to them. The P5QL-E is pretty good

    No on the water cooling. Though I do recommend a fan and not to use the stock one. Mine kept popping loose. I have it overclocked to 3.0GHz.

    8800GTX is good, but I personally like the 8800 GTS 512. I think the GTX is a bit overpriced, but thats just my opinion.

    Gigabyte boards are OK, but I love Asus

    but a ati hd 4850 or, if you got the cash, a hd 4870

    get a p45 motherboardm, i have ep45-ds3l from gigabyte and its working great

    Basically im looking to upgrade my PC specs this weekend and just want a general view on the rig im looking at getting, and anything people would do differently so as to help me out.
