I just got this (88GT) as a free upgrade, but i need some help.

Hi guys, i looked up the 8800GT that Cyberpower gave me as a free upgrade from the previous 9600GT and this is it:

Please tell me that's a good brand, because when i opened the case i freaked a bit when i saw the cooler.

It's not the best brand ever... but hey, it's an 8800gt.

Are the VRM's and memory covered?

yeah i guess i got a basic cover for all the hardware.

I read that, and tomorrow am getting my monitor delivered by Ebuyer, so i will be downloading GPU-z and will check. If its true and its under clocked i will have to go to CEX and trade it in for a 3870.

CEX is a computer/ electronics trader whereby you trade games and hardware in and they sell it on. I had a look in the Leicester store, and felt that the trade in prices were too low and the resale prices were stupidly inflated, relying on the 'OMG! It's a graphics card so it must be expensive!" factor. I would steer well clear.

Okay not a 3870. But i will not know the clock speeds on the card till i get the monitor tomorrow and GPU-z.

I agree, CEX pretty much sucks on trade in and selling values. But its the only one in Newcastle with trade in and selling hardware. :/

^ yeah back home. I bought a 'uni rig'. The one back home (my system) is still operational but i dont intend to ship it back and forth so i bought a uni rig.
