    9600gt vs hd3870 + amd6000x2 vs e7300

    Okay,

I need to know who wins this scenario, in terms of GFX will the HD3870 crush the 96GT or not? (Both cards are 512MB)

    In Procs, will the E7300 C2D > the X2 6000?

I just want to know the winner in these cases that is all. Thanks.

Both cards are roughly equal, the 9600GT comes out on top when AA is enabled. But when it isn't, the 3870 wins more benchmarks.

Dunno about the processors, but I'd go for the intel.

9600GT performs roughly the same, or a bit slower than 3870 depending on what game you play. 9600GT also scales better in SLI.

      And, yes, E7300 > X2 6000+

I've never played either of them, if I were you I'd look around for some benchmarks. It may be worth going for the 4850..

Even the 4830 if you can get it for a good price (sub £100)

The 9600GT will run the two games fine but the extra money needed for the next notch up in graphics cards is definitely worth it.

thing is this si a uni rig, and i aim at spending 450 quid, on a midrange, from cyberpower. I do not desire to build the PC myself. I would like to and have thought about it but don't rly want to as i am at uni.

Neways, i found the E7300 and E7400, will i notice any noticeable difference between the two?

Alright, i bought the PC for £442 which is pretty good and under my selected budget. The specs are:

                    E7300

                    9600GT 512

                    P31 MSI board

                    2GB Gskill 800

                    NZXT Apollo mid tower

                    550w LC Silent

I did not skimp on the PSU in fact i did some research and that LC silent is pretty good. The reason i am buying a PC with this certain specs is that i need something mid range to last me in uni, my real rig, under "my system" is the one used at home.

I wish i had gotten the 4850 but that was a tad costly. I would like to thank all who helped, otherwise i would have gone with the AMD setup.

Looks like a pretty reasonable price with vista home premium included (i assume it is that?) you could have dne it a bit cheaper yourself but its your call i guess.

Yeah, thnx. Well in the first place i wanted to build it off myself. The i had second thoughts being that i am in uni, and could not care much about building one atm.

Nop i picked no OS, as i already have a copy of my XP that came with my laptop.
