Transferring an installed game to another rig

I have CoD4 installed on my other computer by a friend, he also installed it on my Dell when he came over, but I upgraded but kept the Dell's HDs in it, so my new computer is starting fresh.

Can I just copy the registry values and the Program Files folder to my new computer or do I have to do a reinstall from the DVD?

i think you prolly could do that but id just install from the DVD again as its the easiest thing to do..make sure you backup you profiles folder for all your ranks and guns

I have done that with another game, it gave me error messages, so i dont think so...

iv done it loads of times with cod 4 it works fine. You just have to create a profile witht he same name as your old one then overwrite the folder.
