yes i know this thread has probably been around a million times, but can't seem to get it to work

i got vista premium 64bit, and just had to get a new HD because the old one was f****d, so at the same time i got some shiny new RAM, Geil EVO one 2x2GB set.

installed vista with just one 2GB stick in, as thats what needs to happen me thinks, but then everytime i try to add the second stick it always comes up with BSOD!! :'(

im a sad ginger

short of a bios update that might have been issued to increase ram compatibility, your troubleshooting options are just limited to switching out the sticks/banks and seeing if you can replicate the problem with the other stick and/or in a different bank.

sounds like a broken stick to me, though.

Another thing it could have been is ram voltage. OC ram often takes a slightly higher voltage to run properly. 1.9v usually does it :)

2.1 is usually if you are overclocking the ram but if its rated at that voltage then yeah no harm, all depends on the actual ram your using.
