    Video Recorders

    Hey guys,
I've been trying to get FRAPS to work on my new computer, but I just can't manage to get it to record sound. I've google'd everything and found no working solution... So, I have 2 questions for you guys.

    1) Do you know of any other programs that can record ingame footage at a quality similar to fraps and without a watermark?

    2) Might you be able to help me fix FRAPS? I have an EVGA 780i motherboard with Realtek sound (just onboard sound). I don't have the latest version of fraps, but it worked on my old PC that had Windows XP as well.

    Thanks!

You might try gamecam, http://www.planetgamecam.com/. I've never used it myself though tbh.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I just don't want to lose out on the quality that FRAPS provides.

Xfire also has built in video recording now. Not positive on if it works well.

Fairly well, but the codec is a bit odd. It usually lags a lot more than fraps does and it's just not ideal for more proffesional videos. Does the job just fine for the occasional "lol look at me I got 3 deagle kills in a row" vid

Gamecam works, but it has a watermark if I remember correctly.

Well, I tried gamecam but the quality/watermark/lack of audio capability in the demo is extremely dissapointing.

I still can't get FRAPS to work, any more programs/ideas? I need it to be high quality, and FRAPS is the only program I know offering that quality, so any further help would be appreciated.

Xfire works as well, but the quality just isn't where I need it to be.

                Ones that I know of:

                FRAPS
                WeGame
                xFire
                Gamecam
                Growler Software
                Zd Soft

I'd recommend trying to fix Fraps, because I still think that it's the best, but xFire and WeGame are improving all the time. The others I haven't had much experience with.

Nice post, the WeGame quality looks acceptable for youtube, I'll check it out.
*Ugh, it's not opening ingame! ROAR!

Thanks! And I'll keep trying to fix fraps in the meantime.
