I bought two 1GB sticks of Corsair TwinX DDR2 XMS2 Dominator, PC2-8500 (1066), along with a Asus P5Q motherboard.
The P5Q supports dual channel 1066 speeds, yet when I put the ram in it set them to go at 800. So I updated the BIOS to the latest revision, and set the DRAM Frequency in the BIOS to DDR2-1066, but to no avail.
I then googled about and apparently in order to run at DDR2-1066, the sticks need to be powered at 2.1 volts, as opposed to the standard 1.8. So I went back to the BIOS and manually set the DRAM voltage to 2.1, but CPU-Z still reports I'm running at 800.
I would greatly appreciate your help, I bet I'm missing something
