or just turn your fan speed up on your gpu and you get the same temperatures for free

      thermalright:

      + a nice (quiet) 120mm fan

+ a little engineering to get some exhaust going is the way i went...and yes, it's freakin' ooooge also.

3 fans on one cooler :/ id rather stick with my stock cooler which works perfectly fine tbh. If you are getting bad temps and/or you want to do serious overclocking, its the back of the card which needs a bit of extra cooling from my experience with modern GPUS. There is a thermalright HSF which lifts the heat away from the back of the GPU chip and into the airflow of a CPU tower cooler, my friend got idle temps dropping around 7 degrees with this, not sure about load temps. All i do is have a 120mm 1000rpm fan blowing across the top of the GPU, works a treat.

You're so wrong, i ought to ban you.

Notice the heatpipes. They provide better cooling than a heatsink directly touching the chipset.

Unless you're doing some volt modding I really don't see the need for that much cooling ha. I mean its hard to get a stable overclock that would even get close to generating enough heat to need something better than stock cooling... Unless you're rocking like a 4850 or something that runs super hot in the first place.

it's more a matter of noise for lots of people. with decent case cooling, you can run a 4870 with a hr03gt passively. slap on a cooler, and you've got some overclocking headroom.

Also the fact that graphics card generate a lot of heat throughout the case and aftermarket cooling is better at keeping it tamed. I agree though i wouldnt spend money on one unless the noise was particualy bad.

My thermalright HR-03 plus cools better than that. 55c playing crysis.
