How to clean your LCD? Need suggestions please :)

Hi all,

My Acer LCD has some spots on it, i figure dust spots, i need something to clean them off, any suggestions?

Tescos does a neat little thing which i used for my laptop screen..It comes with a duster and this spray and a linen cloth....Works wonders.

I just use lens cleaning spray from any glasses shop along with a micro fiber cloth also from a glasses shop...

^ well i use my sun glassess cloth on the screen, but that wiping spray thing i should give it a try, to remove those horrid spots thanks guys :)

I use water for normal cleaning. for the harder stuff i use rubbing alcohol.

I just use a sponge with 99.99999999% of the water squeezed out.

Be careful to make sure you get something with no ammonia in it or else it will eat your lcd screen. I'm not joking, it will actually dissolve it.

Yeah, i am kind of worried if i apply water, i mean a good sponge or cloth should do right. When i was at a E-Store in Newcastle, they showed me some LCD Wipes, moistured tissue is that any good?

I have some of those, they're really good for cleaning your mouse and keyboard as well...

About that, i was waling into my dorm room with one hand on my Pizza plate, and the other holding my muller youghurt, as i turned my whole 8 slice pie fell on the keyboard lol, luckily nothing happened to mah laptop :P.

I will use that Wipes thing sounds good thnx.

Lens tissue (from camera stores) and industrial grade ethanol (98% from local drug stores).

You can't beat the combination.

If you have some white board cleaning kit, then it would work great as well.

I'd get a LCD cleaning kit if you want the BEST solution. Windex and a lot of other kinds of cleaners have ammonia in them, which will damage your screen over time. You don't want a yellow screen, after all.

LCD cleaning kit, sounds good, are they sld online, or may i get them on the spot?

Oh and Alex i should QFT u mate :P but i hate eating in the kitchen when theres nothing to watch hence why i headed to mah dorm :P Neways you're a 100% right matie
