I tried to uninstall ATI driver in preparation for new 8.8 driver. Nah, not only Vista locked down (worse than BSOD), the motherboard didn't feel like to POST, until I remove the 3870 card and hooked monitor to onboard GPU. The system went back on and becomes more responsive. Also, it seems that the teething problem of TV tuner went away. Nevertheless, TV image quality looks like crap again. I gotta dig into BIOS to see if I did anything wrong.

lol so I'm guessing your onboard GPU is an nvidia?? My old computer with windows XP ran fine on a setup like that. -

It seems that the problem is corrupted BIOS data. After refreshing it now runs just fine. I can't identify the exact reason why BIOS data got corrupted.Comment
