Just wondering, would it be possible to OC a E7200 to 3.33ghz (same as E8600, different cache sizes, but w/e) using the stock cooler since both chips are Wolfdales?

Well, I've heard that it is possible, but you still get what you pay for. 2.5->3.33 means a lot of voltage stress on northbridge and a lot of heat to be dissipated. For practical overclocking, E7200 is best at 2.83 to 3.0.
E8600 still has bigger L2 cache. Recently, I'm playing with FFTW and had some interesting result with different array sizes. Generally speaking, Intel CPUs are more susceptible to cache size limited operation, and two-threaded operation is not any faster than single threaded operation below that limit. L2 cache still matters. It's just that most people don't feel a thing beyond 1MB L2 per core. -

You wouldn't get that overclock on stock. You'd need extra voltage and thus an extra cooler.Comment

I'm at 3.0 GHz and voltages haven't increased.
