Nvida Monitor, or temp reading prgram please :)

Hello,

I recently recieved my PC after a long wait, and am beginning to put in all necessarry drivers, softwares and what not.

I need a temp check, like the Nvidia Monitor, although when i try to install the Ntune program it installs but only to end with an error in the end "unale to construct" me thinks.

Oh and i saw in the News section that the 177.83 drivers were out, am installing as i right this thread. So that means i have to uninstall my 175.19 right?

When you update drivers, it is not necessary to uninstall previous versions unless a problem occurs. Just simply download and install the update.

Odd. Ntune is the best program I have ever used . Here is one http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

It does every kind of temp you can think of.

No, not at all. Just download the driver and install. As simple as that. That pertains to any and every driver.

Actually, it is good practice to uninstall old drivers, as they can conflict with each other, especially with nVidia ones.

@Eagle; read the guide on removing old drivers in the guides section.

Yup, it's always a good idea to remove the old drivers. I personally use Driver Cleaner Pro which is a free download. I didn't do it once and i lost about 30fps in GRID, simply because an old .xml file with Nvidia graphics profiles had not been removed. Damn it.

Damn, the Ntune program wont work grr... i opened the Nvidmonitor, it opens fine, but there is no arrow on the edge of the box to open the Temp meter what gives?!?!?

I will try core temp thnx signa. Yup removing old drivers as the guid said and puting in the 177.83.

core temp works! Downloading Riva Tuner atm...

My Core0 and Core1 are at 26~28 at idle.

Riva Tuners shows me that my GPU is 52 (core temp) at idle.a Um should i mess with the fan settings for my gfx (riva tuner) or should i just leave it at auto? Thnx :)

Put it as high as possible until it becomes too loud or annoying.

Alex, srsly or jk, lol, i am now leaving the fan at 100% and there is a loud noise (it doesent annoy me though :P). Well should i leave it at a 100%?

No, said turn it up to the highest % where noise isn't too loud.

So, it might be 80% or something. The highest % before the noise pisses you off.

I've tried a few different programs and it seems they all report different temps! ntune always showed about 8c higher than core temp for me. :hmm:

There is a discussion going on about what exactly the Tjunction should be on the core temp forum.
