    Video card driver problems

I downloaded an updated driver for my card and when I installed it and the computer restarted, the resolution was reset and everything was crazy colored.

When I tried setting the resolution back to normal, I couldn't. What gives?

    Driver hasn't installed properly.

Right click on "my computer", go to "properties", then "device manager" and then under "display adaptors" uninstall.

Download Driver Cleaner Pro 1.5 and install.

Reboot into "safe mode". To do this, press Start and in the Run box, type "msconfig". Under "boot" tick "safe boot". Restart

When in safe mode, run Driver Cleaner Pro and either clean Nvidia or ATI depending on what card you have.

After, go back into msconfig and untick "safe boot". Restart and try to install the drivers from scratch again.

Uhhh, still the same thing happening. Now the problem is, I can't go back to the older drivers cause they are gone.

K, well there it is. I'm not too computer savvy so I tried filling in what I know.

Also, color quality has gone down to 4 bit

Do you have a graphics card you could perhaps borrow to test?

Is your card passively cooled? It might be overheating...

my X-PURT advice would be to just ditch that box of bolts and buy yourself a new computer.
