i was kind of curious looking at this and made me wonder how much resource your cpu actually has to devote to network stuff with online gaming.

No. Utter waste of money.

Re: anyone have one of these?

what would i only get something like that if i had a bad cpu like i do now?

Re: anyone have one of these?

No, it's just a gimmick that fixes something that no-one has ever find an issue with. Networking is unlikely to swallow up much CPU time, and even so, at that cost you could just get a better CPU which would be far more useful.

Re: anyone have one of these?

That's more expensive than my graphics card. :hmm:

Agreed. Network processing uses so little CPU that offloading it makes a .01% increase in performance. :yay: Oh, you paid $180 for it. :dead::dead:

Not worth it.

Re: anyone have one of these?

Ive read a review of this one, if you play MMO's or 64 player servers you can get up to about 5-10% more FPS, but just buying other hardware such as graphics card or cpu is a much wiser investment

Re: anyone have one of these?

so me getting an E8500, Radeon 4870 and 4GB ram i dont really need something like that.. ?

That is statistical bull.

Hell no. Even if it did increase framerate by 10%, would you notice the difference between 100 FPS and 110 FPS?

There's so many different better ways to spend $180 on a computer, why don't you get a good CPU cooler and OC that E8500?

You could get a bit more than a CPU cooler for $180.

Re: anyone have one of these?

Quad core or GTX 280 maybe? He has a pretty good rig already, just donate it to charity or something. :p

Re: anyone have one of these?

it was pleasently surprising though with ordering the stuff because for some reason i got a bunch of rebates and my price tag dropped down from $1250 to $950 and i was like wtf neweggmoneyHAX

i did get some cpu cooler for 30 bucks like arctic something or other but im going to have to wait and see how my games run before i decide if i want to screw around with overclocking or not.
