Re: AMD deneb 45nm 4GHz!?
They have often been far more innovative than Intel in the past, with features such as true multi-core CPUs, 64bit processors and integrated memory controllers (Which Intel are only just moving into with the Nehalem range). Remember, AMD caned Intel for quite a few years in terms of performance, but have been in the doldrums since the Core 2 range arrived. The Denebs may just finally be their answer to it (like the phenoms were meant to be
).

Re: AMD deneb 45nm 4GHz!?
Have we all forgotten about the X2 series? Those were amazing chips until the C2D's hit. I go with whatever is on top at the time right now I believe in Intel Nvidia but I really hope AMD does come around and launch some good stuff to drive prices down and increase competition for faster components. Competition = win for us consumers.Comment

True, Nvidia has the most powerful card, the GTX280. But the Radeon 4870 and 4850 offer awesome performance against price. AMD have the best graphics cards on the market at this moment in time.Have we all forgotten about the X2 series? Those were amazing chips until the C2D's hit. Especially when you paid only $60 to get one with 45W TDP.Have we all forgotten about the X2 series? Those were amazing chips until the C2D's hit. There you go, Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-DS4H AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard for only $139.99+$9.39 shipping. I'll wait reviews to see how good it goes with 790GX.
Now the question would be: will AMD give the secret of ACC to nvidia? After all, they sold more AM2+ motherboards than AMD. Nah, I think they will give a big shaft to nvidia after all.Comment

Re: AMD deneb 45nm 4GHz!?
I've lost hope with Nvidia right now. GTX 280 is the most powerful single GPU card out there right now, but it's expensive. I wish Nvidia would do something in the medium-high budget area, instead of rebranding the 8800GS and GT to 9000s. And the 9500GT is fail, it's right between the 8600GT and GTS, and you can get a 8800GS/9600GSO for the same price!Originally posted by Alex98ukTrue, Nvidia has the most powerful card, the GTX280. I wish they could pull of something like the 8800GT again....Comment

Re: AMD deneb 45nm 4GHz!?
The recent test result with early engineer sample done by the same Chinese dude who did the 3.5GHz overclocking. It seems that the performance still sucks. Some in the forum doubt that it was due to Vista forced TLB patch that hurt the performance. I'm not sure what's going on, but let's wait and see.
BTW, he changed the fan to one that only sold in China. The temperature remains low through out the test, with 42C measured under load at 3.28GHz.Comment
