Clear cookies/temporary files. Ran any spyware scans recently? Got any firewalls with strict settings on particular... settings? :S

Avast found a Trojan at startup scan and deleted it. I have my Windows Firewall off. Avast is managing all my Internet Security.

Everything is set at default on avast btw.

Are you in Bahrain now? I can see that they have a history of semi random censorship, e.g. Google Earth

              Avast isn't a firewall? It's only a virus scanner.

The only web based stuff it does is realtime scanning as you download data.

Ok i retreated back to Firefox 2.1.6 and yet the same resutls, as the same websites i tried to enter before:

N4g, Kotaku, Yahoo, Google Search engine, and Filefront will not open up. I do not know whats the problem, it is most certainly not a censoreship problem i am sure, and will make a call to my internet service center as well to verify that.

I am releived its not the internet connection thats down, but i have no clue why i cant access these sites as its my daily routine on the internet.

If it's only happening on certain sites, i call DNS shenanigans.

Get on the blower and talk to your ISP.

You could try using a Proxy (http://proxy.org/), I think they work independently of your providers DNS.

Also, you must still have IE installed somewhere, right?
Is that having the same problems?

If you are feeling technical, you could try running ping and tracert against the sites from a command prompt. A successful ping means that the DNS is working, since that is how the names get resolved to IP adresses

Yeah, run a tracert www.yahoo.com or to whatever site is broke and post results.

Run trace route using the tracert command in CMD.

                            Whats DNS?

                            "The following error occurred:

[code=DNS_TIMEOUT] A DNS lookup error occurred because the request timed out during the lookup. "

Btw thats what i get off of Vreki's link when i type in yahoo in the bar.

About Filefront i can go to Moddb, get into a mod, open the dnld sites and use the Filefront mirror to get in, then i am in FIlefront somehow.

A new web is Facebook, i cant get into that as well.

I would just like to point out, that everything i have that uses the internet connection "Steam, MSN, Skype" work fine, as well as a few gaming sites, youtube, wiki, but the sites i posted above dont.

I can not think of anyting.

Alex could you explain your last post to me please, thanks everyone btw i clicked the link alex nothing, even when i reight click the tab and refresh it goes to untiteled :S

That error shows that the DNS servers at your end (Your ISP) aren't operating properly and cannot convert the domain name into an IP address, hence why the site isn't found.

Ring your ISP, tell them that and it should be fixed quickly.
